Organic Greek Sage. By EnVios 50g / 1.76 oz

I use a lot of sage in cooking and baking and this is an excellent addition to herbal and fruit teas. The loose leaves are very fresh and pungent. The flavor in baked goods is such that I need used only half the amount I usually do. I prefer organic ingredients and this is sourced from Greece and the quality is superior.

I steep this 3 to 4 minutes in boiling water and then add a little blueberry honey. I really like the flavor and enjoy it as my nighttime relaxing drink. The reseable bag is easy to use and keeps it fresh.

In my opinion, this is best suited for tea and not for other culinary uses, because it contains a lot of hard stems. You can crush it in your hand to pick out the sticks so that you can use the crushed leaves in poultry stuffing or as part of a rub. As you can see, there are both green leaves and brown leaves. I suspect that is because of the air drying that means they are not uniformly dehydrated. Or perhaps some less than perfect leaves got in there. At this low price point, it's not a big issue. Actually, this is a fantastic value for organic Greek sage. Some of the finest Mediterranean herbs are grown in Greece.

Besides the medicinal benefits of Sage with this product you can enjoy great taste as well.

I ordered the series of the EnVios products to try them out. I am quite particular about tea, and I know my herbs, too, so the offering of an organic series of products made me curious. At the time of purchase (Jan. 2021), the series included the "Peacefulness", "Exuberance", "Sage", and "Pure Clarity" teas, as well as thyme, oregano and rosemary. This review goes for all products, and I'll add separate comments for any product-specific characteristics, if applicable. I am appreciative of the certifications that accompany all of these products, and their convenient, practical, and tasteful packaging. Brewing instructions for the teas are an extra plus; definitely shows the people behind it know their teas, too. No particular comments for the sage product. The content is 100% sage, tasty as I've always known sage to be. I have to say I was unaware sage could be also served cold, so I may have found a new icy candidate to help with cooling down on hot summer days.
